Thu, 25 June 2009 A topic straight from the listener mailbag -- where do Pagan books belong on the shelf? New Age? Religion? Or does it really matter? I provide my take on the issue. Also an update on how things are going for me around here. Wendy Rule is the musical feature for the show. elfster@gmail.comComments[2] |
I appreciate your perspective on the topic, TommyElf. I'm honestly not sure it's something worth making a fuss over either. I'd like to elucidate why it does raise some questions for me, though. There's some folks out there who don't believe the various paths under Neopaganism are "real" religions and therefore do not deserve the rights and protections that religions receive. This is how I saw it being somewhat (though loosely) related to the Pentacle Quest. I'd agree we probably shouldn't care what these people think; we don't need their validation. Trouble is, some of these same people end up as decision makers in issues related to our rights. Hopefully the wiser among us will prevail, even if it takes eight or nine years for that to happen!
I've only been listening the past few months, but really appreciate you touching on topics no one else does. When you remarked about how very few pagan podcasts have endured, it was very striking - please keep it going! I don't always agree, but it it is ALWAYS refreshing! Thanks for all your work!
